CASE STUDIES
South Lakes Society for the Blind
I worked with trustees to produce an income generation strategy. Following that, I developed a social enterprise selling recycled computers and an enterprise selling diaries for visually impaired people (www.vipdiaries.co.uk). I also developed legacy giving and a Friends donor scheme. To assist with the charity's fundraising activities, I developed a fundraising database and applied to grant-making trusts. In total, I helped raise £25,000 in donations and generated £12,000 of sustainable income.
In the time he spent with us, Carl made a huge difference to the whole organisation. His willingness to take on a challenge, combined with his determination to see a job through to completion mean that he is extremely efficient and effective in his work. I would not hesitate to recommend Carl to any organisation. SLSB Project Coordinator
Adventure Events
I have organised and managed adventure events for groups of disadvantaged children, including walking, climbing, cycling, canoeing and team building activities.
Cumbria Rural Citizens Advice Bureau
I developed a Friends donor scheme and assisted with fundraising, including grant-making trusts and corporate sponsors which raised £15,000. I also helped develop the charity governance.
Carl has helped develop the governance and fundraising activities of Cumbria Rural CAB, and he has integrated well with staff and volunteers alike. He maintains a very determined approach to his work and delivers results on projects to a very high standard. I would recommend his services to any charity or project team. CAB Manager
Children in Need
I organised various fundraising events including a rock concert for 2000 people, a helicopter flight and a 'jail break' in aid of Children in Need. The events raised £21,500 for the charity.
Age Concern South Lakeland
I provided site management to aid the renovation of a building owned by the charity which had suffered fire damage. This involved working with the tenant, insurance brokers, loss-adjusters and sub-contractors to re-open the building.
Carl has worked with our charity on a specific project related to one of our properties. He worked within the agreed parameters setting his own targets and goals and ensuring the project came in on time and within budget. He is a self-starter and is able to communicate well at all levels. It was a pleasure to work with Carl and the key thing for the charity was that the project itself did not become an extra burden to a busy management team and we all had confidence that the project was in safe hands. Director Age Concern South Lakeland
Cumbria Youth Alliance
Fundraising assistance was given to produce applications for grant-making
trusts.
Cumbria Youth Alliance would like to say thank you for the help and
assistance you have provided for our fundraising. You identified a number of
funding sources we had not previously considered and helped project managers
understand how their services fit into the criteria from funders. CYA Chief
Officer
